The companies in the Brixen area invest heavily in R&D to help shape a sustainable future. They pursue this goal by networking with both local and international university and research centres.
The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Eurac, Fraunhofer Italia, IDM, NOI Techpark and other South Tyrolean stakeholders are our local partners. The INNOVALLEY Excellence Centre Covision Lab and other centres of excellence in the fields of digitalisation and construction technologies are located in Brixen.
Brixen enjoys a privileged position in the heart of South Tyrol and easy access to the Dolomites, which makes it the perfect starting point for a variety of sports pursuits, excursions, and nature-focused experiences in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the whole Alpine region.
Hiking trails, climbing crags, bike trails, ski areas, pools, spa facilities and a variety of associations: the choice of sports and leisure activities is nearly endless, all year round.
The local entrepreneurship stands out for its passion for technology coupled with a creative approach to problem-solving – and has done so for generations.
INNOVALLEY brings together all these innovative companies around the art of tueftling (ingenuity and initiative) as a driving economic force.
Brixen has been one of the main cultural hotspots in the Alpine region for centuries, as witnessed by its impressive cultural heritage.
Historical monuments and architectural gems can be found around every corner, and the cultural offer runs the gamut from unique events to theatrical pieces and from contemporary art to internationally renowned sacral music from all periods.
Some of the companies based here in the Eisack valley stem from the region’s deeply rooted artisan tradition.
In its effort to promote modernisation and innovation across all economic sectors, INNOVALLEY also creates the foundation for the survival of traditional craftsmanship and agriculture.
With their atmospheric arcades and winding streets, Brixen and its neighbouring towns offer a wide range of shopping opportunities. These include a variety of original old-style shops offering everything from creative fashion to one-of-a-kind products and traditional hand-made crafts – modern shopping with an old-town flair.
The Eisack valley is also a coveted destination for gourmands, with local highlights including some of Europe’s best white wines and the traditional specialities of South Tyrolean cuisine, which blends the Mediterranean joie de vivre and the full-bodied flavours of Alpine cooking. Ingredients come directly from the local farmers – short supply-chain quality for internationally recognised culinary excellence.
